Rector of the Shrine of Fatima

Carlos Cabecinhas has been Rector of the Shrine of Fatima since 2011. In 2008, he obtained his doctorate from the Faculty of Sacred Liturgy of the Pontifical Athenaeum Saint Anselm, with the thesis Liturgical Science as a University Subject. Manuel de Azevedo s.j. (1713-1796) and the first Chairs of Liturgical Science, in which he obtained the highest classification.

For several years he was a professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University in Lisbon and director of the Liturgy Department of the Diocese of Leiria-Fatima.
